The Multimedia Language Centre is a resource and learning centre for students and instructors in the Departments of French Studies and Languages, Literatures and Linguistics in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. Located in Ross South 117, on the main floor near the South tower elevators, the centre comprises a student drop-in area, a student group work area, as well as two Teaching Labs.
The MLC offers a variety of resources for all Italian courses including language (elementary to advanced levels), linguistics, literature, culture, and foundations. These include instructor-authored materials, materials linked to currently used publisher print and multimedia language programs, and video and online resources specifically tailored to support those courses. Students enrolled in Italian language courses normally attend the MLC and use software such as writing and proofing tools for Italian, Sound Forge for listening and voice-recording, and Skype forlong-distance communication with Italian language speakers abroad.
